The First T3 region selection celebration: Interview with Carl

최종 수정일: 2023년 11월 20일

Interviewer: Ryung(R)

Interviewee: CARL(C)

◆ R: Congratulations first. Your guild have achieved the momentous title of being the first T3 region in Earth 2. Could you share your thoughts on this?

◇ C: First of all, I want to express my gratitude to all the community members and guild members who participated. Even in situations where Tiles and Essence can be tied, everyone actively joined in, ultimately leading to the honor of 'TALSALAND' being selected as the first T3 region in the Earth 2 DAO system.

This event served as an opportunity to show the power of the TALSA guild worldwide, and I believe we were able to promote 'TALSALAND' as the megacity of TALSA guild.

Of course, it's not solely based on this event that we can claim to be the top megacity, but at least we demonstrated the potential to become the best megacity.

I extend my gratitude to our guild members who fiercely competed until the end and to all participants for their contributions.

◆ R: The scene of 11M Essences being voted 10 minutes before the end was truly impressive. How many users participated? Were they all members of the TALSA guild?

◇ C: We cannot figure out the exact number of participants, but I believe that a significant portion of users who own tiles in the 'TALSALAND' (Estonia, Pernu) region and most guild members participated in this vote.

What is certain is that a majority of the Essences that reversed the final result came from the guild members. To prepare for the 'Lock-up' related to Essences, we decided to conduct the vote with only a 'portion' of the total.

※ Lock-up: Coins that are not circulating in the market when issued and are blocked.

How do I know this? In the early morning of yesterday(11/16), I received direct updates on the voting status from members of the community I operate ('HODL' chat room). I confirmed that they mostly voted with the T1/T2 tiles they held. At that time, it seemed that users hesitated to vote with Essences because there was a possibility that the 'Lock-up' might last longer than expected.

◆ R: Hold on. So, are the 11M Essences participating in this vote just a 'portion' of the Essences held by the guild? If so, can you share an estimate of how much Essence the guild possesses?

◇ C: Personally, I have an idea of the approximate amount, but as some members may prefer not to disclose this information, considering that it could be strategic information for the guild, I hope you understand that it's hard for me to share that.

◆ R: Why did you choose to conduct the Essence vote collectively just 10 minutes before the end? Was there a specific reason for this?

◇ C: Among guild members, there was an agreement to start moving 30 minutes before the vote deadline, anticipating the possibility of increased traffic.

There were several reasons for conducting the vote at the last moment.

Firstly, we wanted to verify that the Earth 2 voting system was functioning smoothly even when there was a surge in votes at the last minute.

Secondly, we wanted to identify the active community members. Even in a situation where there was a significant gap between the first and second place, we were curious to know who was supporting and cheering for the guild.

Lastly, we wanted to show the influence of the TALSA guild to all participants in Earth 2. With the X from Shane stating that 'the stealth mode' Whales were starting to move, this event alone demonstrated the influence of our guild and solidified our marketing strategy.

◆ R: You mentioned wanting to identify the active community members. Could you provide more details on how you went about verifying this?

◇ C: I conducted a voting verification event using the TALSAPASS NFT and 100 Tiles in TALSALAND as prizes.

Until 8:30 in the morning, the participation rate wasn't particularly high. However, from the moment Estonia started leading, there was a rapid increase in participation, which was quite intriguing.

◆ R: When did you formulate the plan to make Estonia the first in the rankings? Was it a premeditated plan from before the voting system opened, or was it more impromptu?

◇ C: Honestly, we had no ambition to open T3 land. If we had planned it from the beginning, we would have swept the event Shane organized for 'guessing the T3 open regions.' However, seeing Shane's X that no one guessed the correct answer is a bit disappointing.

In reality, we didn't expect such active voting activities across multiple megacities. While observing the voting situation, we thought it would be nice if our megacity were selected as the first, so I encouraged voting.

◆ R: In few days when T3 opens on the 20th at midnight(Korean time), does the guild plan to purchase a significant amount of T3?

◇ C: As always, I personally plan to make a substantial purchase. However, I'm not sure about the plans of other guild members.

◆ R: With this T3 open, will there be any changes to the development plan for 'TALSALAND'?

◇ C: The original plan was to develop the megacity to a certain extent, collaborate with early entrants who developed it well, and then proceed with a full-scale promotion. However, with the T3 open for 'TALSALAND' happening faster than expected, it seems that the scale will expand.

Based on the Essences, Tiles, Resources held by guild members, and the strategically located EPL, the guild will lead the thriving of the megacity.

The [Visit Territory] button for the currently selected first T3 open region, Pärnu, Estonia, does not lead to 'TALSALAND' as intended. Please refer to the following location for accurate information.

◆ R: What is the TALSA guild and 'TALSALAND'?

◇ C: TALSA guild is composed of members who are more sincere about Earth 2 than anyone else, created solely for the purpose of contributing to Earth 2. TALSA guild marks the beginning of the Korean community. The guild was created by early Korean investors in Earth 2 and from the community they established, many other Korean communities have emerged.

'TALSALAND' is our guild's first megacity, planned with a steam-punk concept. For detailed information, please refer to the following link: https://cafe.naver.com/earth2kor/4463

Over the past 3 years, many guild members, including 'Open24hrs', who has silently operated the Korean Discord community, have been active in various platforms like Kakao Open Chat Room ('HODL' chat room) and Naver Cafe ('Earth2 Owners Union'), providing assistance to many Korean users.

We have diverse business plans for Earth 2 in the future, and we're open to collaborating on various projects with like-minded individuals.

Lastly, since the announcement of T3 territory selection, we have received inquiries about joining the guild. Unfortunately, we currently do not have plans for additional members, but we plan to recruit after the release of E2V1.

For those interested in joining, we recommend actively participating in guild projects and community activities, even if you are not a high-ranking player.

◆ R: It's time to wrap up the interview. Personally, I'm curious about how you came up with the name Carl?

◇ C: The name CARL was given to me by an English teacher at an English academy when I was in the 3rd grade of elementary school. I've used the name CARL when traveling abroad or studying in foreign countries.

While I used various nicknames in the early days of Earth 2, I have been active under the name CARL since joining the TALSA guild.

◆ R: The interview has been quite extensive with many discussions. Please share any final thoughts you'd like to convey.

◇ C: Currently, it's the early stage of Earth 2, and I believe that the process of creating a community on Earth 2 is underway. Together with many people leading the operation of a desirable community, I will contribute to infusing positive energy and building a community without scammers.

Especially, I hope to avoid any actions that may cause discord and false instigation among Koreans within the community.

◆ R: Any message you'd like to convey to 'Shane'?

◇ C: Thank you for your hard work every time. I've always silently supported you and the Earth 2 team from behind. If you've read through the content of this interview, you would understand how sincere I am, as well as our guild and Korean users, in the development of the Earth 2.

One thing I'd like to request is to refrain from implementing unfavorable updates just because Korean users hold a significant amount of Earth 2 assets. Some users in the Korean community have thought that the platform is influenced by Whales who control events like recent voting events. Some users have also asked you about ways to deal with Whale groups. In my opinion, showing many votes during the recent voting was one of the results of the hard work Korean users have put in over the past 3 years.

Even in a situation with scam controversies and doubts about Earth 2, Korean users have invested large sums and have consistently and actively worked to establish a proper community. Despite occasional complaints from a few users, please note that their opinions may not represent the overall views of Korean users.

In the Korean community, there are many large rankers, but due to the nature of Koreans being well-united, there may be cases where small users gather to cast significant votes in the future.

Rather than being concerned about and constraining collective movements, I hope you see individuals who are actively working in line with the spirit of 'the People’s Metaverse' that you desire.

Please remember that there are many Korean users silently supporting your and the Earth 2 team's development, and more than anyone, we are concerned about your health. I wish you good health always.

◆ R: Thank you for taking the time for this interview.

◇ C: Representing the guild in discussions naturally made the interview quite extensive. Thank you.
